About Purple Ocean

We do not confuse activity with progress.

Posting frequently, generating reach and running ads are all forms of activity. None of them is automatically growth. Purple Ocean exists because the gap between those two things is where most marketing budgets quietly disappear.

Why we exist

The market rewards volume. Businesses need outcomes.

There is a version of this industry that has learned to sell effort. Deliverable counts, posting frequency, campaign volume, dashboards full of numbers that rise reliably and mean very little. It is easy to sell because it is easy to demonstrate.

The businesses paying for it are not measured that way. They are measured on enquiries, site visits, admissions, appointments and revenue. Sooner or later somebody in the room asks what all of it produced, and the honest answer is uncomfortable.

Purple Ocean was built to work the other way round: start from the commercial outcome, work backwards to the marketing, and be willing to recommend less activity if less activity is what the business actually needs.

The core belief

We do not confuse activity with progress.

Reach is not trust. Engagement is not intent. A lead is not a customer. Each of those gaps is where the work actually lives, and each one gets skipped when the brief is simply to stay active.

Affordable luxury

Premium standard. Sensible commercial reality.

Affordable luxury is frequently used to mean cheaper. We use it to mean the standard stays fixed and the waste is removed.

In practice that means a smaller number of things, chosen deliberately and executed properly. It means we would rather produce six pieces of content that carry the brand than twenty that dilute it. It means we will tell you when a service you are asking for is not the thing holding your growth back.

It also means we are selective. We work with a limited number of clients at a time because the alternative is the volume model we were built to avoid.

What makes us different

Three things you can hold us to.

We specialise properly

Real estate, healthcare and education. Three sectors with genuinely different decision cycles, buyer psychology and compliance realities. Specialising means we arrive already knowing where the work usually breaks.

We connect the parts

Branding, social, performance, conversion and e-commerce are treated as one system with one destination. Most marketing underperforms not because a channel failed but because nothing was joined up.

We report honestly

Including the parts that did not work. A report designed to reassure you is a report that costs you money slowly.

What Purple Ocean is not

Clarity cuts both ways.

  • Not a content factory. We do not create content just to keep your page active.

  • Not the cheapest option in your inbox, and not trying to be.

  • Not a vendor who takes the brief without questioning it.

  • Not a team that will promise guaranteed results to win the pitch.

  • Not generalists. If your sector is outside what we know properly, we will tell you.

  • Not interested in a relationship where nobody can say what the marketing produced.

Which is why Purple Ocean exists today as a growth partner where sharp strategy, standout creativity and commercial thinking work together to make every idea count.

New agency. Not new to the work.

Purple Ocean is a young brand, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. What is not new is the thinking behind it. The experience below was built before Purple Ocean existed — which is exactly why we describe it as experience and not as our client list. When we have delivered results under this name, and the client has agreed to be named, they will appear on the work page with real numbers attached.

  • We will not show you someone else's client logos

Work done at a previous employer belongs to that employer. Presenting it as ours would tell you something about how we would handle your confidential information too.

  • No invented numbers

Every figure we publish will be one we can trace and you can verify. Until then the work page shows concepts and strategic explorations, clearly labelled as such.

  • Judge the thinking first

Read the work page and the blog. Both are there so you can assess how we approach a problem before you take a commercial risk on us.

How we work together

Built for the long version.

Brand work compounds. Positioning decided in month one keeps paying in month twenty, and the campaigns that run against a clear position get cheaper over time rather than more expensive.

That only works if both sides are in it long enough to see it. So we are deliberate about who we start with, direct about what we need from you, and clear at the outset about what the first ninety days will and will not produce.

If a short project is genuinely the right answer, we will scope one. We just will not pretend it is a growth partnership.

Tell us what you are trying to grow.

A focused conversation, not a generic sales pitch. We will understand the business, identify the growth gaps and assess whether this is a strong fit.
